Easing of COVID-19 Lockdown Restrictions - Face Cover/Mask

Due to the recent easing of the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, the Practice is now welcoming symptom free patients for routine appointments following COVID-19 screening.

The Practice requires all patients attending the Practice to wear a clean face covering (scarf) or mask before they attend their appointments ensuring that the mouth and nose are fully covered. The face cover and the mask must not be removed until patients have left the premises.  This is for the protection and safety of both patients and staff. The Practice is unable to provide masks for patients attending due to the shortage of mask availability and the need to monitor the usage.

The Practice would like to thank all our patients for their understanding and cooperation during this challenging time.

The Ingham Dispensary opening times will revert to the normal opening times

Due to the recent easing of the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, with immediate effect, the Ingham Dispensary is reverting to its opening times to the normal opening hours. Therefore, the Dispensary will be open from 8.00am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday with a one hour closure between 1.00pm and 2.00pm.

The Dispensary Team would like to advise patients that ordering online repeat medication is not possible via AskMyGP and patients can order their medication through the website online ordering system.

We thank all our patients for their understanding, support and cooperation.

The Practice would like to announce a new on-line service AskMyGP commencing on 1 April 2020

The Practice will be offering a new appointment service called AskMyGP. AskMyGP Service is NOT for life threatening emergencies.

The service is secure and on line which makes it faster and easier for patients to seek help and obtain access to a GP or Advanced Nurse Practitioner conveniently. You can request help from the Practice when, where and how it suits you. AskMyGP enables patients to be more in control and avoid unnecessary visits to the Practice. The service is available on-line 24/7 and we respond to your requests between the Practice’s opening times and 4.00 pm Monday to Friday. A GP or Advanced Nurse Practitioner will then contact you in a timely fashion through an electronic message to discuss and agree with you what to do next.

AskMyGP Service is:

  • Available on-line 24/7 - and we aim to respond to your enquiries between the Practice’s opening times and 4.00 pm Monday to Friday except weekends and bank holidays.  Please check the Practice’s opening times as the service will not be available when we are closed.
  • We endeavour to respond on the same day. Therefore:
  • If you require a telephone call response, a clinician will contact you and you may receive a telephone call from the Practice’s withheld number. If we cannot get through after the second attempt your query will be closed and you will be required to re-submit a new request.
  • If you have requested a response by email, please check your AskMyGP account and not your email inbox.
  • Registered patients are welcome to use the service and Parents, Guardians or Carers can use AskMyGP on behalf of a patient.
  • You can specify a particular named GP/ANP and they will deal with your request accordingly based on their availability.
  • Home visits can be requested via AskMyGP before 10.00am.

Your query will be resolved in this way or you may be required to come to the Practice for an appointment and this will be arranged for you. Our Receptionists cannot book patients’ appointments directly. Therefore, if you do not have access to the internet our staff will raise a query on your behalf via AskMyGP. You will be asked for a brief description of your concerns and your personal details including your contact number. Please note the information you provide is held in the strictest confidence.

All repeat prescriptions should be requested through the existing Online Access as usual. Please allow sufficient time when you place your repeat medications and collect your medications Monday to Friday before 4.30pm due to the current challenging time with Coronavirus.

Please support the Practice to help you. Our team is committed to maintain professional service and provide high quality of care in a timely fashion. Therefore, we urge our patients to co-operate with our Practice Team and use AskMyGP service to aid both the Practice and patients to maximise the benefit from this new service.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update and Advice

Due to the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) the Practice is taking all the necessary precautions to ensure that we will be able to continue with our services and provide the necessary care to the Practice’s population. In order to do that, the Practice is required to be free from Coronavirus.

If one patient infected with Coronavirus attends the Practice this will result in all staff self-isolating themselves, the Practice will be completely closed and a deep cleaning exercise will be required before we can resume with our services.

Therefore, we are reducing all non-essential services and face-to-face patients’ contact to the absolute minimum to ensure that the Practice’s premises remains free from Coronavirus.   In addition, the Practice has a duty to ensure that staff are protected and maintain their good health to continue working. Furthermore, patients are protected from unnecessary contact which may result in them being infected with Coronavirus.   All patients will be triaged via telephone consultation to assess their needs and the appropriate course of action will be advised.

Therefore, please co-operate with the Practice and if you have any symptoms or suspect to have been infected with Coronavirus please do not attend the Practice and ring 111 for further advice.

The latest Government guidance of 12 March 2020 advises the following:

  • Stay at home and do not leave your house for seven days from when your symptoms started.
  • If you wish to self-isolate you are not required to contact your GP Practice or NHS 111.
  • Should you have any concerns or require medical advice about your symptoms please contact NHS 111.
  • After seven days, if your symptoms worsen during home isolation or are no better please contact NHS 111 online and not your GP Practice. For medical emergencies, patients are advised to dial 999.

During self-isolation please be advised of the following:

  • Notify your employer and ask friends, family or neighbours to help you to get the essentials to enable you to stay at home.
  • Ensure personal hygiene and that you wash your hands regularly for a minimum of 20 seconds using soap and clean water.
  • Avoid contact with other people in your home whenever possible ensuring that a distance of two metres is maintained.
  • Avoid contact with vulnerable adults and the elderly, particularly those with underlying health conditions to ensure that they do not catch the Coronavirus.
  • Ensure that you sleep alone to protect your family member(s).

The Practice is working according to the NHS and Public Health Guidelines and the Clinical Commissioning Group recommendations. The situation is assessed by the hour and the Practice will endeavour to serve all patients in a safe and Coronavirus-free environment.

Extended Hours Service

The Ingham Practice is pleased to announce that patients are able to book routine appointments on Saturday and Sunday mornings and weekday evenings until 8pm.

This service is part of an extended access service which has been commissioned by NHS Lincolnshire West Clinical Commissioning Group.

The appointments are also be available on bank holidays and across the Easter, Christmas and New Year periods.

Extended hours appointments are for pre-bookable non-urgent appointments. Examples of these include chronic illness and medicines reviews.

The service is being delivered by a federation of GP practices in the area. If a patient wishes to attend an extended hours appointment, they may need to travel to another local GP practice, and may not necessarily see their own GP.

In our locality, appointments are available between 6.30pm and 8pm Monday to Friday and on Saturday and Sunday mornings. There are also a number of additional appointments being made available during core hours (8.00am to 6.30pm Monday – Friday)

To arrange an appointment or for more information on when and where appointments are available, please speak to the practice receptionist or a member of the Practice team using the Practice main telephone number.
