The Ingham Dispensary opening times will revert to the normal opening times

Due to the recent easing of the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, with immediate effect, the Ingham Dispensary is reverting to its opening times to the normal opening hours. Therefore, the Dispensary will be open from 8.00am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday with a one hour closure between 1.00pm and 2.00pm.

The Dispensary Team would like to advise patients that ordering online repeat medication is not possible via AskMyGP and patients can order their medication through the website online ordering system.

We thank all our patients for their understanding, support and cooperation.

THE DISPENSARY

We are a Dispensing Practice. If you are a dispensing patient you will receive your medication directly from our Dispensary. If you are non-dispensing patient you may need to collect your signed prescription from the Practice. Please allow the required 48 hours for your order to be processed.

You may order your repeat prescription by:

• Returning the repeat prescription order form slip attached to your prescription
• Post
• Placing your order form in our repeat order collection box in the waiting room
• Online ordering

Our new clinical system (SystmOne) enables patients to order their repeat medication online. This process is completed via a secure and confidential online repeat prescription service.  However, before using the prescription online ordering, for the first time, patients are required to register with the Ingham Dispensary.

Please mark the items required carefully and allow 48 hours to process the prescription, as we may need to order any items not in stock.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.

NHS charges

From 1 May 2024, the charges are:

• Prescription (per item): £9.90
• 12-months prepayment certificate:  £114.50
• 3-months:  £32.05
• 12-months HRT certificate:  £19.80

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.

Urgent Request of Medication

Patients who require their medication urgently during the practice opening hours, or out of surgery hours, are advised to call the main Ingham Surgery telephone number: 01522 730269 where they will be given clear instructions via the answer machine as to the medical service available.

The Practice has been taking part in the Dispensary Services Quality Scheme (DSQS) since 2007/8.  We have achieved the DSQS requirements every year since then.

Please allow 48 hours, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. Any problems please telephone the surgery.

Ordering Repeat Prescriptions outside Practice opening hours

Out of Practice hours, repeat prescriptions can be ordered by post or Online via the Practice website.

Patients who are currently registered for online services should already be able to use the Online facility.
